New York hotels are as diverse as the city’s inhabitants–there are futuristic, artsy, budget, ultra luxurious, and countless other types that populate the scene. With that in mind, each hotel takes a unique approach to keeping their guests entertained when they’re not out being a tourist. We sourced our favorites amongst a sea of rooftop bars, rotating programs, eccentric meals, and hotel nightclubs. If the city bustle becomes too much to handle, this list will ensure that you’ve got a great place to hang without having to leave the building.
The Standard High Line
A long time supporter of music and arts, The Standard High Line has had some of today’s most talented performers entertain partygoers for free–as long as they’re on the list. Le Bain stands as one of the most in-the-know clubs; they book top-shelf DJs who mostly spin house, disco, funk, and soul. As a heads-up: if you’re looking for hip-hop or top 40, this is not the place for you.
Wondering where Tiki is acceptable year round and summertime activities include a dip in the pool? Enter Sixty LES, the latest incarnation of a hotel with history of party-friendly behavior. And today is no exception. From live bands to DJs, to art shows and pop-up events, this is where New York’s downtown residents get busy.
Strap up your heels, slide into your finest button down, and head over to the Meatpacking district’s Gansevoort Hotel for a fab night out on the town. The drinks might be pricey, but it’s a glamorous scene at their famous Provocateur nightclub–a fixture on NYC’s list of bottle service nightlife.
Slightly off the beaten path and in the quieter Chelsea gallery area sits Hotel Americano. But don’t let the calm fool you, this is a destination for the rich, artsy, and fabulous. The hotel’s multiple lounge (and food) destinations will have you feeling like an world-renowned art dealer.
Dream Downtown’s penthouse lounge, aptly named PH-D, is as Vegas as it gets in NYC. Sunset Saturdays here are all the rage– including bottle service with sparklers, well known EDM DJs on deck, and a tight door policy. But once inside, you’ll surely lose yourself in the beauty of both the skyline and the people. What’s the best way to party? Save some money by having a couple drinks before you get there.
