Robe Life and Spa Days
Our Guide To Getting Zen In Miami
It’s no secret that people come to Miami to unwind. While you’re here, you may find yourself more entertained than you anticipated—believe us, it happens. There’s no better way to tune everything out than to check-in at the spa; turn off your phone, and treat yourself.
We thought we’d cover a few different kinds of spa experiences within our list. The Biltmore and The Palms are where rich folks seek the fountain of youth; however, The Mandarin Oriental or similar luxury spots are where the focus is on the treatments. Third, there’s The Standard or EDITION spas, which are more accessible, yet amazingly satisfying. Not all spa treatments are created equal. However, they all have the purpose of achieving ultimate robe-life status.
Pro tip: spa month is a month-long health fest that allows you to test drive Miami’s best places at reasonable prices. Where you’d normally break the bank for an afternoon of bliss, booking in July will get you the best bang for your buck.
The Standard Miami Beach
It’s in The Standard’s DNA to approach things with their certain je ne sais quoi. Their Turkish-style hammam and incredible spa treatments are the pinnacle of understated luxury–not to mention ultra relaxing, soothing, and healing. Make sure to get yourself one of their awesome mud baths and lay by the pool for some extra R&R.
Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables
Everything is grandiose at The Biltmore, and their spa is no exception. Their message is simple: escape the struggles and stresses of the outside and replenish yourself, inside and out. Whether you’re seeking a specific spa treatment, simply checking-in for the day, or looking to go all out for an entire trip, they can make it happen. This is also a great spot for a pre-wedding spa session, either with your friends or the future ball-and-chain.
Mandarin Oriental Miami
This three-story, waterfront, fancy spa comes with a hefty price tag…but can you really put a price on wellness? Whether you’re booking for the day or a single treatment, their amazing services make it worth your while. Their approach combines ancient Chinese, Ayurvedic, Balinese, and Thai traditions. And Unicorn sweat extracts (we wish).
- Fontainebleau Miami Beach
According to Queen of Interiors and Linen, Martha Stewart, Lapis is the most beautiful spa in America. We think that makes the Fontainebleau worth visiting. If running into half-naked Martha isn’t enough of a selling point, then I have two words for you: Water Journeys. Immersion jet baths, rain tunnel, deluge shower, eucalyptus-infused steam, mineral pool…aaaand exhale.
- The Miami Beach EDITION
The Spa at Miami Beach EDITION is all about serenity and taking a moment for yourself. Whether you’re recovering from a harsh night out, a stressful week at work, or trying to tune everyone out, your every need is covered here. Some of the usual stuff like facials and scrubs are nice, but ask about the Grapes of Wrath (no one will make you dodge grape bullets, we promise) and the Power Nap. Those two may not scream serenity in name, but there’s more than one way to relax–and these guys know just how to do it.
