Together Brings the Best in Dance Music to Boston
Held since February 2010, Together Boston is rapidly taking a leading role in unifying music, art, and technology. The week-long series brings artists and producers of all backgrounds to engage in discussions, screenings, demos, and of course–performances!
This year, Together takes place from May 14th through May 21st, and they’ve enlisted an exciting lineup of talent: Dam Funk, Kerri Chandler, Princess Nokia (pictured), Simian Mobile Disco, Leon Vynehall, Soul Clap, Octo Octa, UMFANG, and more.
Past year’s lineups have graced the stages in the Boston and Cambridge areas but found a home by Central Square in Cambridge. Make sure to grab passes early on their site.
If you’re a fan of dance music and would rather skip the large festival format, then Together may be the way to experience Boston’s underground. Make sure to stop by the Sweet Shop parties while you’re at it!
Where To Stay
Whether you plan to be in town for the week or if you’re just in Boston for the weekend, we think a good place to rest your head is key to a stellar stay. We picked out a few boutique hotels where you can get your beauty sleep.
Marlowe Hotel, part of the Kimpton family and one of three in the Boston area, is our pick for ‘best semi-buttoned up hotel’ for guests who simply understand that certain high standards shouldn’t be compromised when you travel. It’s perfectly located in Cambridge near music venues. Expect great linens, service, rates, and accommodations in general.
This youthful boutique hotel near Fenway Park is where to go for a casual, bright, laid-back stay with a retro twist. The outdoor patio area is a good place to gather with friends–should your stay turn into that kind of trip. Music fans love the in-room turntables.
Conveniently located in Cambridge, this new boutique hotel is part of a new wave of hospitality that focuses on delivering intimate, thoughtful experiences. Beauty is in the details, and we’re sure this newly opened Freepoint in West Cambridge will do the trick. It’s a great place to stay when you’re trying to get near festival venues.
The Ames Boston Hotel comes to mind when looking for an upscale stay that is modern and sophisticated, but not antiquated. For those who wish to be centrally located, staying at The Ames puts you in the heart of Downtown Boston. It’s close to venues and after-parties, but also gives you a chance to explore what the city has to offer. It’s a win-win!
