Best Party Hotels in LA

Sunset and Beyond

Los Angeles is the backdrop to some of rock n’ roll history’s most tabloid-worthy stories–from trashing rooms to love affairs, to ultra-intimate fashion parties (like Chanel’s shindig at Bar Marmont, below) and everything in between.

Beyond the madness, however, the city knows how to have a proper good time. And some hotels are more encouraging than others. While of course you would never trash a room, we understand that sometimes you want to keep the party going.

So we rounded up a list of the best hotels that bring the party to you and encourage some fun.

Sunset Marquis

The Sunset Marquis enjoys a steady stream of Los Angeles nightlife action. Located on Sunset Boulevard near iconic music joints like Viper Room and Whisky a Go-Go, this hotel has historically been a rockstar favorite. Live @ Sunset Marquis is an acoustic music series showcasing the greatest in LA, and Bar 1200 and the Morrison Hotel Gallery host events on the regular.

The Standard Downtown LA

While all Standard Hotels have that certain je ne sais quoi, each hotel is unique in its own way. The Downtown LA property has hosted countless talented artists, including St. Lucia, Empress Of, and Ellie Goulding, via Standard Sounds, their hotel music culture entity. Expect nightly DJs on the rooftop, many of which are the best in Los Angeles.

The Line Hotel

At The Line Hotel’s Break Room 86, partygoers can find a 80s-themed Karaoke bar on steroids. Koreatown-natives Mark and Jonnie Houston created this time warp of a bar that features guest DJs, live shows, a dance floor, and karaoke. On the more low-key side, Pot Lobby Bar is a quieter place to spend happy hour. We understand if you’re too shy to sing in front of crowds.

Hotel Figueroa

Something special is brewing at the newly remodeled, soon-to-reopen Hotel Figueroa. In the past, they’ve been known for throwing some killer pool parties, and they’ve hosted countless live music nights. Fresh design updates are rumored to be restoring the hotel to its original glory by embracing its Spanish Colonial style roots. The new pool area looks amazing–perfect for evenings with friends. We can’t wait to see what’s in store.
