Voodoo Music & Arts Experience
New Orleans, Halloween
OCT 27 – 29
This year’s lineup includes giants like Kendrick Lamar, The Killers, LCD Soundsystem, Foo Fighters, and a slew of favorites like The Afghan Whigs, Cold War Kids, and more. We’re keeping our eyes peeled and ears in tune for Bleached.
The festival aims to give visitors the full experience. This includes a marketplace with handcrafted goods, a food court featuring the best local flavors, and large scale art installations throughout the park.
Finally, if you really want to scare the pants off yourself for Halloween, swing by Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 after the shows.
Where to Stay
Make sure to grab a pair of tickets and head on down to the party. Here are a few places where we’d recommend you stay during the festival.
Aloft New Orleans Downtown is a modern hotel in the heart of the city. With sleek and comfy features, it’s perfect for travelers who are looking for a central location with plenty of amenities. With a gym, small restaurant for light meals, pet-friendly options, and a bar with live music, they cover all the bases for a New Orleans vacation. Additionally, they have a big outdoor pool that will seriously come in handy in those summer months. Louisiana gets hot, y’all.

Located in the heart of the French Quarter, this amenity-stacked hotel is amongst travelers favorites: it sits at the top 5 Reader’s Choice by Conde Nast Traveler for a reason. From the onsite gym to the complimentary breakfast, Hotel Le Marais has the basics of hospitality covered and then some. We highly recommend it if you’re stopping in for Voodoo Fest with friends.
Always at the forefront of culture, Ace Hotel in New Orleans is more than a place to get a night’s sleep. The modern, upscale room decor is just a start. Here, you may treat yourself to powerful Stumptown coffee; high-end (but never stuffy) dining at Josephine Estelle, Alto, or Seaworthy; and to a night of culture and entertainment at 3 Keys. The live jazz venue is home to musical talent from all over and a hub for music-minded folks during Voodoo Fest.
One can expect great things from the Renaissance. After all, they come from the Marriott family. They are all about smart service and good value, providing a stylish and contemporary place to stay along with all the musts: fast wi-fi, sumptuous linens, fancy bath amenities, and more. The centerpiece of the hotel is their on-site dining and cafe, giving guests a sip of the local flavors and drawing interesting crowds that are stopping in for the festival. Stay in style while not making a huge dent on your Voodoo budget.
If you’ve always wanted to stay in a notoriously haunted hotel, this is the place for you. This historic spot is infamous for ghostly occurrences, and that’s a motivating factor for many travelers who step into this grand hotel to rest their head. Aside from the possible “extra guest” in your room, this hotel is an ultra-luxurious, European-inspired high-end stay with a beautiful rooftop pool. Le Pavillon is a fancy haunt that pairs perfectly with a voodoo festival weekend.
